When the cold hits this low, losing your heating system can be threatening, which was the case for hundreds in the area over the weekend. And the snow and cold keep coming. A storm is set to hit the area during the early morning hours on Tuesday starting at 2 a.m. that could give 3 to 4 inches of snow in New York City and possibly more in New Jersey.
Temperatures will go up near freezing on Tuesday, with more arctic cold set to come back to the area on Thursday.
