Julio Acevedo, 45, was found guilty of both charges Thursday morning. The accident killed Nachman Glauber and his pregnant wife, Raizy, who were riding in a livery cab on their way to the hospital. The prematurely delivered baby lived just hours after the accident.
Prosecutors said Acevedo was driving 70 miles per hour in his BMW when he hit the cab carrying the couple.
The New York Times (http://nyti.ms/1zslsgi ) says he could face up to life in prison.
Anybody that lives in NYC is aware of the mystery of all these Pensylvania plates on vehicles and othe rtricks.
If memory serves me well, the BMW involved in the crash was said to be his but registered in another name. Whether this pattern of behavior is done to hide assets while collecting or other reason; IT HAS TO STOP.
My goodness, this open-and-shut case took a long time. When is the sentencing?
Many think it was the livery cab’s fault too and he should be tried…. strange that the cab did not stand trial at least
Looking at the picture of this beautiful young couple makes your heart cry.
