Mayor Nir Barkat said in a statement issued Sunday that he was riding in his car when his entourage spotted a “terrorist” with a knife. He said he and his bodyguard leapt from the car, the bodyguard drew a weapon, and they held the man until police arrived.
He said the Israeli who was stabbed was “lightly injured.”
Israeli police confirmed the mayor was at the scene and said an 18-year-old Palestinian had stabbed a 27-year-old Israeli in the stomach.
It was the latest in a spate of Palestinian attacks against Israelis over recent months, mostly in Jerusalem but also in the West Bank and Tel Aviv.
Kol hakovod to him and his bodyguard for their heroic efforts on behalf of a fellow citizen…. let’s be honest most “officials” let alone mayors would never personally leap from their vehicles to appreHend a knife wielding terrorist…
It’s not the Pali’s fault. Why don’t we offer him a job as Obama suggests?
The poor innocent Pali was very despondent by Jews ascending to Har Habayis…no, that was last week’s excuse du jour.,,the Pali was despondent because of poverty in Gaza…no, that ones wrong too. He was despondent over “settlement” building in Jerusalem….
When you have an ARMED body guard with you, it’s much easier being a hero.
So Bibi. To where should the Jews of Jerusalem now move?
