The federal Investigative Committee said Alexei Goncharenko was being questioned Sunday about his alleged involvement in a fire that broke out last year in his home city Odessa between pro-Ukrainian and pro-Russian demonstrators. Dozens died in the fire, including some Russian citizens.

The speaker of Ukraine’s parliament, Volodymyr Groisman, said the detention was a violation of international law because Goncharenko has diplomatic immunity. The speaker urged Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin to take urgent measures to have the parliament member released.

For many Russians, the Odessa fire remains one of the more painful episodes of the Ukraine conflict.‎

The imaginary legal system in Russia has now “decided” = been instructed to try cases outside its jurisdiction. If Russia views what happened as a war crime, they will open the door to other countries trying Russians for crimes in Chechnya for example. Maybe the Russians think Ukraine is still part of their country.

That crazy dictator in the Kremlin thinks he’s the new Stalin. He must be stopped before he starts WW3.

Having Putin’s corrupt investigators look into the murder is like adolph looking into the burning into the Reischtag.

What a sad joke. Killed by the man about whom the President of the United States claimed to have looked into Putin’s eyes and seen his soul and Putin is “straight forward and trustworthy” (June 16th, 2001). Another Obama blunder.
