Israel – Thousands Hasidim to Fly from Israel to Uman Ahead of Rosh Hashana

    28

Israel – The Airports Authority is preparing for a mass departure of Breslov Hasidim to the city of Uman. Some 15,000 people are expected to travel to Ukraine for a visit to the tomb of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov on approximately 80 flights.

The Hasidim will embark on the traditional Rosh Hashana holiday journey in order to pray near the pious’ gravestone during the Jewish New Year, between September 24 and 29. Seventeen flights are expected to take off on September 25 and 20 will leave on September 28.

Ben-Gurion Airport is preparing for an “airlift” operation which will take Breslov Hasidim abroad and bring them back to Israel between October 2 and 7.

These estimates are based on the airport’s year-long experience and on figures collected by the passenger service unit.

As part of the preparations, passengers’ needs in a variety of services will be answered, including designated areas for flight registration, transportation of kosher food to Uman as cargo, designated passport control stands, prayer zones, and allocating offices to be used by travel agents.

Security checks for the Uman flights will open four hours before takeoff.

The kosher food packages required by the Hasidim will be sent through the airport’s cargo terminal and not as passenger’s luggage. Each traveler will be allowed to take a personal case of food for immediate need on the plane in coordination with the airline.

i dont it is appropiate to make sport of those who travel to uman for rosh hashona and yom kippur. they are chasidim of a great chasidic leader who inspired them to teshuvah, tzedaka and teffila.i would love to make the trip , however, i find it not comprehensible for lodging, food etc.. those that go have by far greater emunah than i have. even during the days of the iron curtain, chasidim went , under extreme conditions just to be able to be near the rebbi zatzal during the yemai hatshuvah. lets wish them well and hope they all come home safe and sound.

Why should we praise people who (in general) are using money that their families desperately need in order to indulge themselves in an exciting adventure, while abandoning their families for Rosh HaShana?

And, they’re leaving Eretz Yisroel in order to daven in Chutz l’Aretz, no less!

Yes, 20 years ago people went there with messirus nefesh, but that has no relevance to what goes on there today.

I will not answer to the ignorants. Yidden Be besimcha. Reb Nachmen said That a simcha of a yid is equal as davening yom kippur. So Let all be BESIMCHA Uman Uman Uman rosh hashana

Someone said that Uman is like 1969 Woodstock. I was not in woodstock so i dont know .But it doesnt sound yiddish to leave your wife and kids on rosh hashana. this is my personal observation

Doesn’t sound yiddish to leave eretz yisroel because you want to be in a holier place on rosh hashohah? No kidding!

The idea of davening by the grave of a holy person on yomim nora’im certainly sounds good, and since there are none in eretz yisroel people are forced to leave Yerusholayim to daven in Uman.

I wonder if the route to Ben Gurion Airport passes by kever roshel or the mo’aras hamachpela so they can say good bye to those people in those other graves.

Why the hate for Breslov, while we have a love fest for Lubavitch?

Breslov is much less dangerous that Lubavitch.

Why all the criticisim? It’s erev Rosh Hashana. My son is a frum, young man who graces our Shabbos/yom tov table with amazing vortlach from Reb Nachman’s l’kutai Mohoran. He comes home from Uman on a tremendously high spiritual level. The davening and achdus there is something amazing. Of course it’s difficult to understand leaving a wife and children, yet I don’t hear real Breslav families complaining.

To each his own, if everyone concentrated on being the best oved Hashem as possible and worked on their own tikkunim with shalom and reyus towards others – our world would be a much better place.

It seems to me, the sinach chinam in most of the above postings are the similar types of behaviors and attitudes that brought about the destruction of the beis hamikdash.

Wishing everyone a k’siva v’chasima tova – regardless of where they daven or what they wear on their head. May we all have a g’benched yur.

It would be one matter to visit a live Rebbe on yom tov while leaving your family (difficult but understandable).

But to leave your family for a Rebbe who was niftar is just off –

This is a TRENDY event and that simply is wrong. Its like going to a concert (lehavdil) because everyone else is.

It would be better if they all went to Jerusalem to daven at the kotel and as close to the Har Habayit as halachiclly allowable (and don’t blog that none is because that’s not true its a false “geder”).

if you haven’t experienced rosh hashana in uman you don’t have what to base your opinion. as far as leaving wife & children for yom tov, do you hear the wifes complaining? I know mine isn’t.

besides that isn’t a breslov issue. many come from all over the world to be by their rebbe for rosh hashana leaving wives & kids at home. 770m belz, ger, especially have thousands of husbands coming from abroad at great expense without their wives & kids.

It’s very painful to witnessed how people tend to believe that commenting on Rabbi Nachman Z”L is something that they could get away with it. I know personally stories of people who expressed themselves in not respectful words against Rabbi Nachman Z”L, and their end was very sad RC“L.

I’m not Chas VeSholem here to judge any-one for their expressions. However, my lovely brothers, beware “Tizoheir Begechalton”. If you had said something in the pass not respectfully, then come to his tombstone and ask for forgiveness . The Teshuvah gate is always open. The Holy Tzadik Rabbi Nachman Z”L said Im Atah Mamin SheYecholim Lekalkel Tamin Sheyecholin Lesaken.

If Rabbi Nachman did say to go to Uman for Rosh Hashanah, it should be self understood that talking against a Tzadiks command means playing with fire. If you don’t believe in him then pray to Hashem that he should give you the Aminuh Bahashem, IbeMoshe Avdoa. At least don’t come out publicly and dissuade people not to lesson to a Tzadiks Command.

Read all the threads of people who acted smart, and traveled to Uman for Rosh Hashanah. These people were smart and did had Rachmunius on themselves, and have been Zoacha to a Tikun.

Mitzvah Lismoah Divrei Chachomim in one of the 613 Mitzvahs. We have to lit the Chanukah candles also for the only reason explained in Talmud that whatever the Chachomim are saying is a part of the Mitzvah Lismoah Divrei Chachomim.

Hopefully to meet the entire Klal Yisroel there.

Rav Nachman mi Breslov was a great tzaddik – the proof is that his writings are still studied and help people.

But why leave your family on yom tov – when they could go another time?

its funny, even before reading this article my husband said how there are mixed comments and i knew that you would write something…um, how do i say this nicely, something which will get you some attention.

why is it that almost everytime i read these comment you always have to write something which will offend many people?

if its for attention i suggest you stop because its really irritating.
