I was there, what a Kiddush Hashem, just the fact of seeing Jews from all walks of life, seating together next to each other in unity, listening to Mussar and dancing with Joy was the most amazing thing I have ever seen.

according to my estimation there were about 5000-8000 people, not more.

He promoted his goal for the coming year to make 1,000,000 Baalei Teshuvas, by having a million frum Jews each make 1 baal teshuva.

The speech was very uplifting as well as the music.

    to moshe,

I have no problem with his turban ( do I detect a chip on your shoulder?) It’s not about him being a sefardi. As a matter of fact, I think he’s doing a diservice to the sefardi community. From the portion of the event that i watched, I saw a man, sitting alone on a stage and READING his entire ( not particulary deep ) presentation. do you want to go to bat for this man as being representitive of thousands years of wisdom and scholarship? really!? Other than his groupies from queens ( nice kids, doesn’t take much to impress) the body language and expressions of everyone else told volumes.

HE SHOULD LEARN FROM CHABAD THAT THE WAY TO BE M’KAREV YIDDIN IS THROUGH LOVE NOT BY “BRIMSTONE & FIRE”. EVEN THOUGH PEOPLE MAY COME UP & CUT THEIR HAIR OR REMOVE THEIR EARINGS ETC. UNFORTUNATELY IT DOES NOT LAST . AS SOON AS THE FEAR WEARS OFF IT’S BACK TO WHERE THEY WERE BEFORE. THE CHABAD WAY IS THROUGH LOVE & SHOWING THE BEAUTY OF TORAH. BY DOING MITZVOS “MITZVAH GORRERES MITZVAH” THEN EVEN THOUGH IT MAY TAKE TIME IT EVENTUALLY CHANGES PEOPLE TO STAY IN THE WAY OF TOHAH & MITZVOS

To all those that were so inspired by this event,

maybe open up a Musar sefer yourself and try to connect with the words of the sages. This should be inspiring.

To join 5,000 or more PPL and be moved, WOW! if you’d go to Madison Square Graden to the Ringling Bros. on Chol Hamoed with just Jews, This would also be a beautiful and moving event.

What touches the sol is a real connection to the Sifrei Mussar. if your are then inspird that is true inspiration.

Not that I am saying anything against the Rabbi,

he may be doing wonderfull acts. But lets be clear of what should inspire us and what is a nice gathering.

    To the Louie   10:45,

We can all read without caps, stop screaming!

BTW, Chabad only makes Lubabs, they don’t care if they want to keep torah & mitzvos. That is a side issue. They won’t work on anyone if he told them I’ll become frum, just not lubab.

because they didnt get ENOUGH attention from the chabad shluchim? but anyhow, do you really think that the lubavitcher rebbe ztl is upset that they started by chabad and are still frum and moved elsewhere? if you think the answer is YES, you dont know who this holy man was.

I actualy agree with the above “complainers”! Although he did say alot of Mamarey Chazal – I did not go with his acting. 1) And he looks like he is “full of it”. 2) Any large Rebbe’sha Yom Tov Tisch has the same amout of people, all crowded together – as apposed to spraed out comfortable seats, which makes it look bigger. 3) There is no reason to “scorn” in public the Chilonim – this is NOT the DERECH of a true Gadol. 4) Amnon Yitzchok is currently suing in Israeli Court Horav Moshe Landa – the Rav of Bnei Brak, because he doesn’t like the way Rav Landa’s Bais Din Passkined a Din Torah not in his favor….! Not only is he making a mockery of rabonim he is also..calling the Dayan / Rav to Court….!!! I Defenetly DO NOT go for this man.

First off, he is not suuin anyone, before swallowing the lies of the secular media, why don’t you first do some research online regarding the lawsuit to see exactly who is suuing whom

And second, before criticizing and knocking a man of Rav Amnon’s stature before, who has the support of Gedolei Yisrael from Rav Ovadia to Rav Pam zt’l, why don’t you first thoroguhly research who he is and what he is about on his website. Watch a few videos and read up, then you can run your mouth if you wish about such a great man with such great accomplishments. My advice: tread carefully. Shana Tova!

Acting? R.Amenon Yitzchaq spends tremendous amounts of time almost every night reaching the people that Chabad, et al were NOT ABLE TO TOUCH. “Looks” like he’s full of it? What in the world does that subjective comment mean? Someone could say the same of you! Those chilonim that you claim R.A.Y. scorns come to him in DROVES, so maybe YOU are wrong, but you don’t mention a specific action of the rav’s, so it’s hard to know what you mean. Your 4th “point” is a NICE red herring, if R.A.Y. is suing R. Moshe Landau, there must be something wrong w/R.A.Y. You are suggesting that it is halakhically impossible for someone to invite a rav to a secular court, but is that true?

    Ra'anan
    Ra'anan

Doesn’t rejecting R. Amenon Yizchaq because he’s not Ashkenazi & he’s a ba’al teshuva mean that you would reject Iraqi-born Avraham Avinu, the son of idol-selling Terach? If HaShem chooses mashiach to be Sefaradi or Yemenite & a ba’al teshuva, does that mean that HaShem made a mistake in your book???

    Ra'anan

Sifrei Mussar are only BOOKS! Torath Chaiym means learning from a LIVING talmidh Chakhom! If you don’t understand something in a SEFER, you can become stuck, but w/a living rav, you can ASK HIM!

Hey, Khomeini used TAPES to spread his message, does that mean he was wrong? You are invalidating his approach because of his MEDIA/style instead of his content. Is anything of what you call doom & gloom NOT FROM CHAZAL??? When you say that you are de facto criticizing CHAZAL! As far as posters being evangelical-like, SO WHAT! It didn’t stop YOU from watching him! Last time I checked, Gog uMegog is from NAVI, why in the world would that stink to you??? Do you think that the nevi-im were selling, chas weShalom, SNAKE OIL??? As far as America drowning, do you REALLY think that American Jewry is in good shape?

To all of you writing things that you don’t know let me get the facts straight. This event was not to make money. they were not even planing on breaking even. yet it was still worth it to be mekadish shem shomayim b’rabim and to be machzor b’tshuva ourselfs and our brothers. Many people were up all night for many days just to make this happen.I was in the ravs house in bnei brak it is NOT a palace not even close. so do some more research before you start typing and maybe make a resolution to try and thing positive about other people.

It was a very beautiful event. i was there, and there was a very warm feeling. From the ‘ballagan’ of getting the tickets (if you didn’t have time to have it mailed) to davening Maariv. There was a very warm feeling. It was a great feeling of Ahavas Yisroel. Knowing so many people of back grounds etc. were there; all taking part and with a positive feeling. May we all be zoche to what the rav said towards the end that everyone shodul accept to make a baal teshuva this year – according to what he said in teh begining – that the Avos were like partners – not just workers for Hash-m, becasue tehy brought peopl under the shechina. If so, how much more, people who are already Yidden, to bring them back to Hash-m. Shal-m!!!
