do not engage them in any conversations under any circumstances!!!! walk away!!!!

One of these types of people once came to a very great Godol and gave him his literature which the Godol took from him and told him that the reason that he took it is so the person shouldnt give it to someone else.

Take their materials from them and dump it. I find it hard to believe that a Frum Erlicha Yid will be ‘influenced’ by their propaganda.

A few years ago, I received a DVD from these guys, with a “new testament” story narrated in flawless Yiddish.

I disposed of it. I hope that they were not successful in gaining any meshumadim, ch”v. Then, now or ever.

I agree take all the papers from them by saying you would like to give it to all your friends in shul.

turn the corner and throw it into the trash bin which they won’t see

This story happened to me a few months ago when missionaries knocked on my door. I felt bad for them because it was pouring outside and they were drenched. So I invited them inside and offered them a coffee and made some small talk. After a few minutes I asked them point blank, what was it that you came to me to talk about. They looked at each other and said, we are not quite sure, we never got this far before.

I always wonder why not hak a chainik by the non-believing gentiles, they need something to believe in, instead of making yiddishe people fardreit.

BH, I have had some training in countermissionary work, enriched by learning and teaching Tanach, esp Navi. A few years ago I was visiting NYC and a man with a ‘messy’ Tshirt came to me, perhaps assuming I might be Jewish due to modest dress. He was Israeli, and I spoke to him in Hebrew. AMazingly, when he was trying to point out something to me, even though speaking in Hebrew, he would use terms such as ‘leviticus’ or ‘Isaiah’ rather than the actual Hebrew terms. I realized this was a nebuch Jew who had no Jewish education. He had no idea what actually was stated in Tanach, only what he had been trained to say by the Yushke pushers. When he pointed out to me that ‘Leviticus’ says atonement is only with blood, I told him actually what it says, that offerings don’t have to be with blood, etc. Everything I said, he had no idea of. He had no arguments, only what he had been trained to say. Such nebuch. I finally asked him, Why do you listen to what people who are not really Jews, who are descended of those who want to destroy Jews chvch, say, rather than learning Judaism in a real yeshiva? Don’t you owe it to yourself to really know? To your ancestors who survived so you could be born? To bezH your future? I told him to go to a real yeshiva and learn what Hashem really is about, and what Hashem really wants from us. I pray that he did.

I have met a many others like him, ensnared not because they are evil, but because they are ignorant or needy emotionally and spiritually, including having bad experience with rabbis. Let us make sure we give our children a good background in Tanach, and try to provide proper Jewish education in a loving way for all Jewish children.

Actually the best thing to say is ” You’re Welcome for killing that mamzer”. And if they look at you with shock just remind them that without the Jews killing yuske hamamzer they wouldnt have any of their salvation.

angry yid, why stoop to their level? We’re better than them. Answer smart, not spiteful.

And I think Nechama makes some great points. If it turns out that the person is actually Jewish, you can turn it around and change THEIR minds, if you have the background and education to do so.

I do not think there is even 1 .0001% chance of them converting a boro park or flatbush yid into a messianc jew. The ones who are vulnerable are the russians – but there is no need to panic people – they really are barking up the wrong tree here – does anyone know a frum yid from boro park who became a messianc jew from a dvd or a shmooze with these freaks?

Morei VeRabosei, we’re in golus and their is no need to go negative. A simple answer would be that my ancestors and the sages who were alive then, flatly rejected it, so now almost 2000 years later someone can’t come and say hey, I just discovered America. I think that was Reb Avigdor Miller’s easy advice.

But people, watch out. If you’re gullible and not too fluent in Tanach and the history of Yuske pundrik, don’t try too argue with them, thats exactly what they’re looking for. don’t fall for it.

to #3 and #20 , this episode is in fact the lubavitcher rebbe & the video is on youtube. I’ll try to post the link later. The rebbe after accepting the book from the missionary immediately dumped it in the garbage & told those around him that he accepted the book for the sole purpose of throwing it out lest another jew get his hands on the book & reads it.

6:53 & 8:20 Are you people so knowledgeable in your own religion and in their religion and your emunah in the Rebono Shel Olam so steadfast that you’re able to refute an apikorus with a slick tongue? Even if you yourself feel that you do have the power to prove them false, most people are not on this level and therefore, says the Rambam, we should avoid speaking to them at all.

the missionaries have hundreds of millions of dollars behind them. Literally.

It is the Largest organization out there to date. I’ve seen material from my work with yad l’achim, and it would blow your mind.

the lengths that they go to, to convert non-religious jews in israel alone is astounding. they show up in hospitals after terror attacks…they have their own massive “meals on wheels” program….they give out cash, to people who are out of work or who poverty stricken….All in hope of converting just one!

ive seen the conversion videos… very sad… very sad…

Everything you hear or see has a hashpuah on you. Are we all tzaddikim that we don’t sin? Are the gedolim not smarter than us when they say don’t talk to them. If we are so strong in our emenah and betachim that we feel we can’t be swayed by what we hear and see why isn’t masiach here yet? Also we have to watch our children. Especially the child at risk type. They are looking to be accepted somewere. These people should be thrown out of are community. I hope Shomrim are on the lookout for them and show them they way out of our community.

Instead of fighting them lets build and strengthen our Emunah so that these people will have no effect on us.

The fact that we are scared of these people speaks volumes about our Hashkofoh and Emunah.

“No thanks, not interested” are the only necessary words. I don’t understand the commotion being made over this. The sad fact is these people are never going to go away. Just say “No thanks, not interested” and walk away. Why would you waste your time with them? They’re not interested in what you have to say. That’s not why they’re out in the street.

Just walk away and don’t waste your time.

I think that naming these oisvurf’s Messianic Jews gives them much too much credit. We Jews who believe in the coming of Moshiach are Messianic Jews. They, l’havdil, are not Messianic and they certainly are not Jews. As far as engaging them in conversation, I believe that it is counterproductive. True, you might have a minute shot at getting one of them to ask themselves if this is what they truly believe in. But how many others would become emboldened and encouraged in their evil work merely because someone took the time to talk to them. The mere conversation alone is encouragement. Better to just ignore them (or to take their literature and discard it) and walk away. I am in sales, nothing is more discouraging than a flat out rejectaion without allowing me to took or get in the door.
