    Brooklyn, NY – AlphaPhone a New York based telephone service provider announced last week with the NY State Public Service Commission that they are exiting the telecom market by Oct 30th 2008 and that all customers local and long distance service will be automatically switched on Oct. 23, 2008 to a new telephone company called Connectel, or they can switch to the phone company of their choice.

    The shut down of AlphaPhone will affect thousands of Frum customers, in Boro Park, Flatbush, Crown Heights, Williamsburg and Monsey.


    Another phone service called Xchange Telecom, a facilities based telecommunications company, that already services thousands of satisfied business and residential customers has informed VIN News that they have launched a major marketing campaign to inform all AlphaPhone customers and to welcome them with a special promotion to join the Xchange Telecom family.

    The facts regarding the transfer of service to Connectel from Alphaphone are the following:

    Service will be transferred seamlessly to Connectel.

    Prices and rates for your phone service will remain the exact same.

    All Features and services will continue to work without disruption.

    There will be no increase or change in price.

    No Action is necessary to ensure your smooth transfer to Connectel.

    No Dialtone will be lost for even one moment.

    I am an alphaphone customer,, thanks VIN for letting me know that I need to switch services.. They did not bother to let me know that I will have to switch. Can ppl please tell me which cable source they use for fone services?

    Chani, please check your mail before posting. I’m an Alpha phone customer, and i got an official notice in the mail on Shabbat from Alpha.

    now I just have to decide which provider to choose.

    I am an alphaphone customer and i received a letter from them saying that they are closing but you dont have to change you will be switched to connectel

    fyi: Alpha Phone charged for calls to certain hotlines INCLUDING KOL MEVASER AND KOL HALASHON- .005 cents check your bill if you dont believe me.

    I used them for VOIP years ago and got disconnected a lot. Tech support sounded like it was forwarded to some kids on cell phones. I switched to another company and lost dial tone once in two years, I had to unplug and replug.

    I have been a very satisfied Connectel customer for over 5 years. They have a very good customer service and repair department. I dont know what the fuss is about. Alphas customers will be happy with Connectel as I have been

    Connectel is a great company with great service. Why exchange telecom? Is exchange so great? Their just trying to steal alpha/connectel customers. .

    Xchange is more anchored. And you can get DSL with KosherNet. Or switch to a Verizon combo package, include DSL and separately get KosherNet’s KleenWeb
