Suspected Jewish attackers torched the home of Saad Dawabsheh in the West Bank village of Duma on July 31, killing his 18-month-old child and seriously injuring his wife and a second son, an act that Israel’s prime minister described as terrorism.

A spokeswoman for Soroka hospital in Israel where Dawabsheh had been receiving treatment said he died early on Saturday.

The mayor of Duma told Reuters that preparations were being made for his funeral.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s security cabinet has come under growing pressure to crack down on violent far-right Jewish groups since the attack, and the government decided to allow harsher interrogations of suspected Jewish militants with methods once reserved for Palestinian detainees.

It also said it would start detaining citizens suspected of political violence against Palestinians without a trial, another practice previously used only on Palestinian suspects.

Huge crowd at funeral with everyone wanting revenge. Why give them real reasons on top of excuses?

The deviant, terroristic, criminals who perpetrated that atrocity, are no different than the Arab terrorists, who target civilians. Why do so many on this board remain silent, when an outrage such as the above occurs? Why the double standard? Aren’t we supposed to be a light among the nations? We can’t complain on one hand, when Jews are killed in terrorist attacks, and remain silent when Jewish extremists decide to randomly target civilians, and kill them.

I see Reuters knows already who did it before the police know, if it would be a jewish home the headline would be a jew dies in a house fire. What a double standard.

We should hope for the same ending for the terrorists who committed this vile crime.

    ‘Jewish Extremists’?
Should read ‘Suspected Jewish Extremists’ since it could just very well be an Arab neighbor settling a score with the family for one of a million reasons.

There is no definitive proof it was Jews. Arabs are bloodthirsty, vicious monsters & there is every reason to believe this was some kind of family/community dispute. You really think that because something was scrawled in Hebrew it had to be Jews? Are you all so naive? These Arabs speak, read & write Hebrew. How do you think they get jobs in Israel, serving you breakfast in your fancy hotel or sweeping the streets or stocking shelves …. or working as doctors, policemen & lawyers?

I’ll bet the farm this horrible act was committed by Arabs. They don’t care about life, not even their own.
