Police spokesman Det. James Miller said the 13-year-old boy was identified as another alleged victim of Mr. Yaakov Weiss, 28, of Loudonville, during the initial investigation of a referral from the New York State Child Protection Agency.

Weiss, a teacher at Chabad of Colonie and founder of the Chabad Hebrew School, was charged Sept. 29 with several counts of sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child for alleged incidents involving another 13-year-old boy as a result of the initial referral.

The latest allegations involve an alleged incident that occurred in June on Whitehall Road, Miller said. Weiss was charged with second-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child this afternoon in response to that allegation and was arraigned in City Criminal Court.

VIN News has confirmed that the teacher has been removed from the school a few weeks ago. The Chabad Organization needs to be applauded for standing up, by removing this teacher as soon as it learned of a potential accusation.

“VIN News has confirmed that the teacher has been removed from the school a few weeks ago, and is no longer a threat to Kids”

As long as he’s not locked up in prison, he remains a threat to kids.

My understanding is that he was suspended from his teaching post months ago, and since the start of school a few weeks ago is not allowed into the building.

Its such a shame becuase prior to these allegations he was such a positive force for spreading Yiddishkeit in a wide area. But protecting the past and potential future victims must take priority over all other considerations. You are right VIN, the Chabad organization and school administration must be applauded for giving the charges the seriousness they deserve and for taking approriate action. Iy”H justice will be served.

It is time for the ‘rabbis’ to take responsibility for this mess which they have caused to their silence and running after bans on concerts instead of focusing on the real issues. May these bad things befall them and only then , maybe will they say something. Shame on them and shame o n all of you who support them. It is time to ban the rabbis!

Kudos to CHABAD indeed if they let him go right away. That is the way all the other organizations and schools should have done. Too bad and it says alot about Chabad. Obviously they have there smarts on first and foremost.
I hope the victims will be okay.

To all of you comenting on

“Anonymous Says: I still dont know why his name is being said if its only indited not been convicted.”

    i just want to know,

How many of you will encorage VIN to post his name as being officially cleared from all wrong doing IF that turns out to be the case. not only for weiss but all cases that get the names posted online for elegidly doing this horible act.

and how many of you will read the story and comment…

and last Yes Put up Names and photos of convicted molesters with the curent address and phone number, that will send a clear message to those who are doing it, not to. but bashmutzing a person and his family is damage that is perminent.

yes the goyish press have the name a photos but a frum jew has halachas to follow one of witch if he breaks he must pay for damag done.

i was falsly acused in the past and till today it affects me, thank god it wasnt molesting a kid but yes you can get falsly acused.in the case of molesting you had to be a real idiot to get falsly acused and you gave a window of oppertunity for a acusation to take place. but do you need to have your life end for that reason.

Thank you, VIN, to you and to Rabbi Yakov Horowitz, for having the courage to stand up and step forward and take the lead, and to encourage people to go the police, to eliminate this cancer from civilized society.

I think it is very wrong to call these people animals and monsters. They are people with an illness, and they need to be helped to me cured. It’s a machla. Calling him an animal and a monster and saying he should be locked up in jail i think is cruel. Don’t worry, he will have his day in court, and if he is guilty, he will serve time. However, he still has a family and kids, and he is a person, not an animal or monster.

The rabbis who focus on concerts while ignoring the monster molesters, are like cops who sit in the police cars while writing parking tickets, while someone is being stabbed in the alley behind them.
    Not every victim complains.
WARNING: Unfortunately, some victims “grow up” to become molesters.
Therefore we are stopping the molester and those who would learned from him if he had not been stopped.
Ever notice that wife abusers were once children who watched their fathers beat their mothers?!

Let me tell you something, if he is sick as you say he should have gone for HELP, instead of abusing all those nebach innocent helpless kids, so DONT DEFEND HIM!! Ok? there is no excuse for abusing children! If someone feels he cant control himself he should go to a Dr. and get the help he needs! and if he is NOT SICK?? He just gave into his taavis!! So for shame for sticking up for all those ABUSERS! A shanda! A Bisha! An Umglick!

It doesn’t matter if a molestor is Lubavitch, Satmar, Ger, Pupa, Lakewood, Monsey…a predator is a predator. I certainly don’t know if he’s guilty, but the police obviously think so. Maybe he’s innocent. Maybe he’s not. Time will tell & yes, kids must be protected & people need to be aware so they can protect their children. If he’s innocent then a collective Mechila must be asked. If he’s guilty, we have saved other kids. This rule must apply to every “molestor.”

If all of this exposing is happening how are there known people on the sex offender registry living in Boro Park and it isn’t posted all over???? How many people living in Boro Park and Flatbush check the sex offender registry??? Don’t you think that someone should post these elsewhere so everyone is aware??? These people are living like normal go to shul, shopping, etc, and unless there names are known could potentially pick on another child. These people are CONVICTED sex offenders.

It’s true it’s time for rabbonim to form new institutions to deal with these types of cases. A single jurisdiction court specially staffed by rabbis from many different groups (e.g., Satmar, Lithuanian, Lubavtich), perhaps serving on a rotating basis, who are experts in this particular subject matter and the disciplines providing wisdom on it (e.g., psychology and psychiatry) and understand the intersection between the secular and Torah legal systems, could form the basis for the building of a cross-community court whose scope of authority is increasingly widened to other “trouble” areas, eventually forming the model for how to reconstitute the Sanhedrin.

If the rabbis want klal Yisrael to adhere to halachah in this area, they should make the compliance choices easier for the people. That’s effective governance in my view.

First, I feel bad for victims of sickos like this.

Then, I feel bad that there have to be sickos like this in the world who are basically not able to be rehabilitated.

It is so hard to see that Hashem allows evil to happen to victims like this and the cause is a sickness only curable by Hashem. Please, Hashem! Heal the victims, and heal these sickos so they do tshuvah and this doesn’t happen anymore to anyone! It’s not possible b’teva.
