RECORDONLINE.co (http://bit.ly/1EchWP1) reports that despite the fact that municipal boards from both communities set to take up two important votes on the issue in a few weeks, it appears likely that the ongoing battle will ultimately wind up where many have have been predicting it would since the saga began—in the courts.
At the heart of the matter are the efforts of Kiryas Joel to annex the land in hopes of solving its fast growing housing needs, but locals in Monroe reject the proposal, insisting that expansion of the Hasidic community will forever tarnish the serenity of the area’s country setting.
I always thought Kiryas Joel was in Orange County when did it move to Rockland County? Why are you calling the village TINY?
What these people don’t understand is you can not use zoning laws to discriminate against any group it’s against the law. If Kiryas Joel doesn’t annex the property, the Satmars will not be so densely populated but they will be residence of that town (Monroe) and if enough of them move in and they can take over the whole town.

do these people know our history? we have been hated and chased out of everywhere…Egypt, the pogroms in Spain, etc. but we will survive and persevere as we always have, with the help of hashem!
…and who wouldn’t want a few thousand Satmar Chassidim in their backyard?
