DNAINFO.com (http://dnain.fo/1RwGW5g) reports that according to Rosanna Aran— a rep from Laundry Workers Center United, who along with the Steelworkers Union are vying to represent B&H’s 240 workers—said conditions have turned “hostile and intimidating” since workers filed a petition to have an election on October 13th.

Aaron said that just two days later B&H managers were physically pushing workers out the door, screaming “Get out, get out.”

B&H workers report that managers have been wearing “Vote No” keychain necklaces while asking workers to view anti-union videos, and in some cases have asked workers to meet individually and sign papers with never-seen-before “consultants.”

B&H spokesman Juda Engelmayer denied the charges, saying, “We are not standing in our employees’ way as they seek to potentially organize.”

B&H is the king of nickeling & dimming its employees. They still charge 10 cents for outgoing calls. Yes in the 21st century. You can only access websites needed for work. And you must clock in time sheets like a kindergarden attendance. Here, is the mature approach. Your manager assigns work that should take 8 hours to do. How and when you do it who cares. As long as it gets done.
I will say that B&H has helped lots of yidden who wouldn’t have a parnasa otherwise. So lets give them credit for that.

every few years they get into the news and make a massive hillul has-em in the past Jews were at the forefront of the workers rights movement but it seems certain Jews (that I shall not name) only believe rights go into their direction. I hope the feds punish them hard this year and at least stop their expansion btw a good percentage of workers there are not Yehudim.

Retailing is a business with very low margins, and many big companies go out of business from time to time. Anyone with a job at a retailer should be happy to work there, as you failed to get a job at a higher paying profession somewhere else.

B&H hires a lot of frum people, from what I heard. Be happy to work in a frum environment. Want more money, open your own business, or go somewhere else. Don’t bankrupt B&H, or make them stop hiring more frum people.

Off course you earn little. This is a retailer. If they make less money and have to cut costs, it is you that may find yourself without parnassah.

These are my thoughts as an outsider.

I too have an accountibility of what i do every day… You come to work you have a responsibilty to do your days’ work for a days’ pay. Its a union mentality to come in when ever you finally find a parking or finished doing what you had to do at home. I deal with union employees and boy oh boy are they catered too.

The lesson for B&H is don’t hire goyim; they may be cheaper to employ at first but then they get too smart and stab their employers in the back. There are plenty oh Yidden in need of jobs. How many goyim are lucky enough to have off on Fridays from 2 PM, closed Saturdays and all Yomim Tovim?

Sometimes a scratch my head with the comments that I see on vinnews sounds more like an anti semitic website with some comments, BH is providing parnassa for yiden Bderech kuvid, and a lot of the profits from BH go directly back into the community by the owners being some of the most generous baalie tzedakah in our generation, yes that’s right, so for someone to say “I hope they are being punished, etc..” Is full of hate to frum yiddin in general and chasidisha yiddin in particular.
