Nezar Ayyash of Gaza’s fishermen union says the man was “working normally” when a nearby Egyptian navy gunboat shot him Thursday.

Palestinian Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Kidra says the 18-year-old fisherman was shot in the abdomen and died after being brought to a hospital.

Egypt has had tense relations with Hamas, the Islamic militant group ruling Gaza, since the 2013 military overthrow of President Mohammed Morsi, whose Muslim Brotherhood had close ties to the group.

Egypt and Israel imposed a blockade on Gaza when Hamas seized power there in 2007, and over the past two years Egypt has moved to shut down border tunnels that Hamas relies on for cash and smuggling.

Ban Ki Moon to the rescue. Let’s hear the thunderous condemnation and calls for restraint. Oh. Don’t bother. This Palestinian was shot by the Egyptians.

No it wasn’t the Egyptians that killed him, they’re nicu people.
It must have been the Israelis that killed him. It’s always the Jews! 🙂

If the Palestinians are complaining then the Egyptians probably accidently killed a terrorist or weapons smuggler (as no one will condemn Egypt their making a fuss over the death of a human otherwise makes no sense).
