The device was captured on police cameras and officers traced it to the two in Central Park during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Thursday morning.

Flying a drone in the city is illegal. The father said he didn’t know what the rules were because he was from out of town. Police ticketed him and released him. No criminality was suspected.

Well I do live here, and I didn’t know that’s illegal.
I know there are altitude restrictions, and sensitive areas including airports, crime scenes. But I always thought it was legal in parks and other innocuous areas. That’s just crazy. You might as well outlaw selling it in the city limits!
