Addressing representatives of Spanish Jewish associations and political leaders Monday in Madrid’s Royal Palace, Felipe said that Sephardic Jews — as those who once lived in the Iberian peninsula are known — were now back “at home” in Spain.

Justice Minister Rafael Catala said that since the law was passed Oct. 1 there have been nearly 600 citizenship applications and 10,000 information requests.

In October, Spain also granted citizenship to 4,302 people whose Jewish ancestors fled after being told in 1492 to convert to Catholicism or go into exile ahead of the Spanish Inquisition that saw many Jews burned at the stake.

The Palestinians should think, how would they fare without the Jews, who would look at them ?

missed them? Ha so they wont burn them at the stake this year? Thanks. I wouldn’t spend once cent on the whole continent of Europe all vicious anti Semites. I am disgusted also by those that go to these places and spend money there.

Why don’t you invite Palestinians to your land?
We already had our privilege, it was enough!

Your Majesty, it’s too late to reverse the damage that your forebears did to the Jews and to themselves. But rather than offer citizenship to Spain, offer solidarity and support to the Jewish people in Eretz Yisrael. You should be in the forefront of fighting against the European boycott of Israel. That will show genuine regret and contrition for the sins of Spain.

The Yidden in France would be much happier and safer in Spain and the Jewish Agency should seriously consider providing funding for a mass emigration to Spain. The inquisition is ancient history and would not be repeated in modern Spain.

    So sweet of him!
Meanwhile those low lifes have put arrest warrants on many major Israeli leaders if they ever step foot in Spain because of the Flotilla attacks.
    Go figure!

Many Spanish Jews went to Holland and from there to the rest of Europe. Much Spanish money and property was taken from the Jews.
Let Spain make restitution to us Jews.

Let us figure out how much they owe us based on what percent increase per year?

It’s true that – had his ancestors not savagely burned Jews at the stake and not expelled them – Spain would probably be much better off today.

But I disagree with some of these comments. We are in galus, even more so because of the Zionists. When a gentile leader offers a genuine welcome, the correct response is either thank you or thank you but no thank you, not derision because of what his ancestors did 500+ years ago.

As well, for anyone thinking objectively, a Jew today might (or might not) be far better off in Spain than in E”Y under the Zionists.
