The National Weather Service says that as of Friday, the record for the latest date without measurable snowfall has been broken.

The last time the city waited so long for at least a tenth of an inch of snow was in 1899, when it arrived on Dec. 3.

Meteorologist Jim Mitchell says the wait will continue this year. There’s no snow in the forecast until at least mid-December.

The start of the winter season couldn’t be more different from last year, when some areas of Buffalo and the suburbs saw 7 feet of snow in November during what’s now called the “Snowvember” storm.

Of course the climate change deniers who cite every little example of cold weather as an anecdote won’t tell you about this.
