(AP Photo/Bebeto Matthews) New York – A couple of sanitation workers making their pickups found something unusual left on a busy Manhattan street — four children sleeping in the back of an idling car.

    The Daily News reports (http://nydn.us/1YvWRZt ) the workers initially approached the car parked at the corner of White and Lafayette streets on Monday morning to get the driver to move. That’s when they saw the children and flagged down law enforcement to help.

    The children were between 18 months and four years old. A 26-year-old babysitter was arrested on charges of reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of child. The children were returned to family members.
