As previously reported on VIN News, Rabbi Biergmacher, a rebbe at Yeshiva Aish Hatorah’s Spanish program, was fatally stabbed today as he left the Old City through Shaar Yafo.

Rabbi Biermacher, the father of seven, was born in Argentina. After moving to Israel he became interested in a Torah lifestyle, learning first at the Belzer Yeshiva Torah V’emunah and then moving on to Aish Hatorah. Rabbi Biermacher, 45, had been living in Telz Stone for the last several years.

Hundreds turned out at Beit Midrash Kehilat Chanichei Hayeshivot to pay their respects to Rabbi Biermacher as reported by B’Chadrei Chareidim.

Rabbi Biermacher was eulogized by Rabbi Aryeh Shulman, rabbi of Telz Stone, who quoted the navi Yirmiyahu crying, “death has come through our windows and entered our palace.” Rabbi Shulman was followed by Rabbi Aryeh Leib Goldberg, who described Rabbi Biermacher as someone who always shared a vort with everyone he met.

“The last vort he shared with us was one of mussar: that a person can leave his house in the morning and never come home again,” said Rabbi Goldberg.

Rabbi Goldberg asked Rabbi Biermacher to be a meilitz yosher for his wife and seven unmarried children, the youngest of which is just three years old.

Rabbi Tuvia Rosen shared his recollections of Rabbi Biermacher, praising him as a talmid chochom with vision who frequently came to him with questions about child rearing.

The final speaker was a friend of the family who described Rabbi Biermacher as “holy and pure. He gave his life to his talmidim, both at Aish Hatorah and at Ohr Somayach.”

Kaddish was said by Rabbi Biermacher’s two sons and was followed by a late night burial on Har Hamenuchos.
