The incident took place on December 21st at approximately 5:30 PM in the atrium of an office building located on the southeast corner of Fifth Avenue and 47th Street, which boasts a four story public atrium. The building, located at 575 Fifth Avenue, is owned by MetLife and serves as the headquarters for L’Oreal USA.

Police said that the 43 year old victim was hit multiple times with a closed fist on the back left side of his neck by a dark complexioned suspect with closely cropped hair, wearing a dark jacket.
