Englewood Cliffs, NJ – Members of an interoffice pool at a Grissini’s Restaurant in Englewood Cliffs cried tears of joy after thinking they’d won the Powerball jackpot, but unfortunately for them the numbers they were reading were for Wednesday’s drawing and not the Saturday draw they were in on.

The video posted by the resturant on their YouTube channel (https://youtu.be/GZtrJwlkJFM) shows the staff seen screaming deliriously on video and jumping for joy upon thinking they’d be splitting Saturday’s $900M windfall, a celebration which caused at least one worker to quit his job.
The group’s Saturday ticket contained the numbers 2, 11, 47, 62, 63 and the Powerball #17, an exact match to Wednesday’s numbers.
While it is unclear as to exactly when the staff became aware of their oversight, at least one worker, Charlie Poveromo, was still walking on clouds on Tuesday at the thought that he’d almost won.
“I still can’t believe it,” Poveromo said. “What a feeling.” he told NBC News.
Wow, what a bunch of loosers.
My mom once did something similar. She just said gam zu l’tova – and carried on playing the lottery 2x week until after about 10 years she realized just how much money she had thrown away and quit. I have more chance of being kidnapped by aliens than winning anything. Good luck to all you players, it would be great to see a frum Yid win!
sad

BTW: what is tryptophan????
Oh man. I feel bad for them
