Both Cruz and Trump were campaigning Monday in New Hampshire, which holds the second contest in the country’s critical primary season.

The war of words between Cruz and Trump has intensified in recent days, with Trump going on the offensive over Cruz’s eligibility to be on the ballot given his Canadian birth and for Cruz’s failure to disclose loans received from Citibank and Goldman Sachs for his 2012 Senate race.

Trump on Sunday called Cruz a “nasty guy” who no one likes. Cruz tried to turn the insult into a joke Monday, posting a message on Twitter saying Americans feel “nasty” towards the “Washington Cartel.” Cruz posted a link to the video of Janet Jackson’s hit song “Nasty.”

“Donald seems to be a little rattled,” Cruz told reporters before a town hall in Washington, New Hampshire Monday. “For whatever reason he is very, very dismayed. I guess as conservatives continue to unite behind our campaign, as his poll numbers continue to go down, he’s a little testier.”

Polls show Cruz and Trump locked in a tight race in Iowa, but Trump is polling considerably better in New Hampshire. Cruz embarked on the five-day swing through the Granite State this week as his numbers began to show new strength.

Cruz questioned whether Trump is a true conservative, noting donations he’s made to Democrats over the years, including $50,000 in 2010 to Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, the former chief of staff to President Barack Obama. And Cruz rejected Trump’s self-comparison to Ronald Reagan, saying he was “pretty sure” Reagan never supported or made large donations to Democrats.

Trump, campaigning in New Hampshire late Monday, did not bring up his rival’s accusations.

    Dear Rafael E. Cruz

Reagan was President of the Screen Actors Guild, the labor union for actors. Sounds progressive /Hollywood enough, eh?

He was a lifelong liberal Democrat, supported liberal causes with time and money liberally, but his views changed in the sixties and switched to the Republican Party.

I guess that Canadian citizens did not learn about U.S. Presidents’ biographical histories.

Cruz had the decency to offer Trump the VP slot Thursday night although Trump isn’t qualified for any office.

Those who call Trump a “buffoon, clown, not a serious candidate”, etc., are the real fools. They just can’t stand the fact that Trump is very wealthy, and very successful in business. They are extremely jealous, and like to look in other people’s pockets. I predict Trump will win the Republican nomination for President, at the Cleveland Republican convention, this summer. The Democratic nominee, and the Democratic party are going to have a tough fight on their hands. People who never voted for President before, are going to cast the deciding vote in this election. Once Trump is elected, the waste, fraud, and abuse, which characterizes many federal agencies, will be eliminated. There will be economy in government. Also, the multitude of federal lobbyists will have a diminished role, since Trump does not need their financial support. I can’t wait for January 20, 2017, when Trump will be inaugurated as the 45th President of the USA!

Amazing, isn’t it? One of Trump’s ads against Cruz begins in 2011, showing Cruz’s complete support for the 14th Amendment, which guarantees US citizenship to those born in America or naturalized. The ad continues to 2015 which shows Cruz saying that he has fought to amend the 14th Amendment for years against those born here or naturalized. The ad concludes, “Which Cruz do you choose?” Instead of hurting Cruz for this flagrant lie, his ratings among Republicans is higher, which clearly shows that Republicans care nothing for honesty, instead, putting their support behind the candidate whom they consider the bigger racist.
