The Detroit Free Press reports (http://on.freep.com/1KoLuqG ) the model, which contains more than 50,000 glued Lego bricks, was unveiled Monday at Cobo Center.

The model will be shown through the end of the show on Sunday. It’s one of 10 Detroit-area landmarks made of Legos that will be on permanent display when a LEGOLAND Discovery Center opens this spring at Great Lakes Crossing Outlets in Auburn Hills.

The landmarks were chosen through online voting last year. Other models include the “Spirit of Detroit” statue, the Motown Museum and Comerica Park, the home of the Detroit Tigers.
