Ontario Provincial Police said Wednesday the man received a $110 ticket after an officer spotted a car resembling a pile of snow on the road in Brussels, Ontario on Tuesday.

The man, whose name was not released, was charged with having an obstructed view.

Police spokesman James Stanley said the man said he was too old and weak to brush it off. The officer cleared the snow from the man’s car and let him on his way.

“He was going for a short drive in town. I understand his excuse was he was too old, too weak to brush off the snow,” Stanley said.

Police tweeted a picture of the car.

“Can’t make this stuff up,” the OPP wrote. “Driver charged today in Brussels actually driving like this.”

A real police officer should give him a warning and then arrange for a neighbor of the poor old man to clear his car for him whenever it snows. This story is a sad comment on how even small cities are now falling victim to the impersonal big-city attitudes.

The article does actually state that the officer cleared his car of snow for him. That was actually very kind of him. The fact that the officer wrote him a ticket is not such a terrible thing. An obstructed view could have been cause for a dangerous accident. The ticket can still be dismissed. I think the officer acted very professionally in this case. In New York City, they would’ve towed the car away, leaving the old msn out in the cold.

You do have to wonder about the judgement of a person who would drive a car without clear road vision. Would you let your 10 year old drive this way??? This man needs Accessaride.
