In its annual compendium of statistics issued ahead of Family Day on Tuesday, the government agency reported that, in 2014, approximately 95 percent of all Israeli couples were married.
The remaining 88,000 pairs were described as “cohabiting” – a “low rate” compared to countries such as Italy at 7% and Norway at 27%.
this is indeed good news, if it is true.
The Jewish people’s future is based on our having children and married couples seem to reproduce where as live togethers seem to not want families.
Next step: Bring traditional Jewish values to all.
Hello, where are the VIN anti Semites now? 95% married, almost entirely Jews marrying Jews being married by Orthodox rabbis and having Jewish babies. All of this is facilitated by the forward thinking Zionist-Orthodox leaders of the Rabanut many years ago. Ashreichem Yisroel!
I guess this means a higher level of civilization. It shows that people trust to get married as they trust to get along together and build a future together. Common spiritual goals helps too.
Why is it that Norway has such a high rate of cohabitation versus secular Israelis? Is it because of centuries of living without religion?
