During a televised town hall session hosted by MSNBC in South Carolina, Trump, the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination, said he believed getting a deal done would be “very, very tough.”

The remarks were notable not only because Trump rarely discusses Israel or the Mideast peace process on the campaign trail, but also because they seemed to show a shift in Trump’s views on the feasibility of a deal.

Trump said in December he would start working on a deal between the two sides within the first six months of taking office if elected. In those earlier comments, he also said he thought a deal would be hard to make, but added he thought it depended whether the Israelis really wanted to make one.

In his comments on Wednesday, Trump said he’d heard from an Israeli that “the other side has been trained from the time they’re children to hate Jewish people,” and that was why a deal might not work. “You have one side in particular growing up and learning that these are the worst people,” he said.

“I would say if you can do that deal you can do any deal,” he added. “That’s probably the toughest deal in the world right now to make and it’s possible it’s not makeable.”

The town hall was part of Trump’s final push to translate his substantial lead in the South Carolina polls to a victory in the state’s Republican primary election, which takes place on Saturday. He also appeared before South Carolina audiences on Wednesday in the towns of Bluffton, Walterboro and Sumter.

Trump said he’d still try to get a peace deal done, even if the odds for success were slim: “I’m going to give it a shot.”

Trump lacks any deep thought on topics he discusses. Mr. obvious needs to invite his Ivanka and Kushners for shabbos and learn more about the conflict. It sounds that only recently he heard about Palestinian incitement problem.

The first time someone’s speaking some common sense. The truth is that no peace deal can be accomplished, so just stop wasting time, effort and money on this. Better focus in building a strong US. Keep normal relations with Israel. Stop dealing with terrorists and don’t try to solve the terrorists problems.
Let them stop hating and teaching hate first. Will check back on them in a couple years to see if they have upgraded their lives and aspirations.
In the meantime build America, make it powerful and proud again. These peace deals won’t accomplish that, so why bother..

The danger here is that once it’s known that a deal can’t be reached, the nations might try doing it by force…even though it’s the Palestinians who are really the problem. Ultimately, the world can try to force Israel to give up land, but can’t force the Palestinians to accept peace and not bring weapons to blow up Israel.

Moschiach is getting closer and closer.

Trump is more realistic than much of the traitorous Israeli left who work for Soros.

If there is no peace deal, there must be a long war. A long war can end only one way, when one side is wiped out. Anyone want to bet which way a very long war would turn out?

You must make peace when you are on top or you will have peace forced upon you when you are on the bottom.

Seems like we might actually have a politician & president who actually tells it like it is and not some silly PC speech to make it all look fine & dandy and that all will be great if he gets elected.

To #1 - You make it sound as if Trump has not been around Jews, and doesn’t know anything about Judaism. The fact of the matter is that he has dealt with Jews his entire life ( in college, in real estate, as well as with lawyers, accountants, financial advisors, business associates, employees, friends, other builders and real estate developers, hotel owners, etc). Trump is well aware (and has been) aware of the situation vis-a-vis Israel and the Palestinians, for many years. He was telling the truth, when he stated that it may simply not be possible to reach a deal between the two sides. He correctly pointed out that the Arabs have been taught to hate Jews from their earliest educational experiences.
