Detective Michael Milici, a 20-plus-year veteran currently assigned to Brooklyn’s 66th Precinct in Borough Park, was placed on modified duty earlier this month after invoking his Fifth Amendment rights before a grand jury hearing evidence in the case.

The NY Post reports that Detective Michael Palladino, president of the Detectives Endowment Association, said Milici filed his retirement papers Monday morning.

The Internal Affairs Bureau was notified and he was then suspended without pay.

He will still receive his pension because he has more than 20 years on the job, Palladino added.

“This is obviously a complicated situation that I prefer not to discuss in the media other than to say that Detective Milici, having an unblemished record for 25 years, simply invoked his constitutional right and he has not been officially accused of anything,” he said.

Milici was being questioned about his relationship with two Jewish businessmen suspected of offering cash and gifts to police brass in exchange for favors, such as free NYPD security at special events and rides to and from the airport.

Hopefully the latest episodes with the Mayoral corruption involving frum gelt and NYPD corruption involving frum gelt will be a lesson that dirty money from their frum millionaire rabbis will not bring any good for long term. How many careers and legacies are doomed because these money hungry cops and hungry politicians got excited over gelt and kosher block vote guarantee. Go get em Preet.

Is Detective Milici the guy in the picture above? He visits all the Shuls in BP on Yom Tov.

Living in Boro Park for many years. This guy is well known for being there “for his friends only”; in other words those who regularly showered him with gifts. No grease/no response. This guy should be hung out to dry. Better yet, he should cut a deal and talk; the beans he spills will have the “machers” running to Israel. You read it here first.

Time for a clean sweep; these politicians and “askanim” are living “very comfortable lives”. Some of them in Israel multiple times a year. Meanwhile the working stiff busts his tail to pay the bills. When will pple wake up. Nachman Caller, you were sooo right. But the “askanim” wouldn’t give you a chance. Time to take to the streets. The Boro Park spring; throw them alll out with the chametz

He was a good guy. He did so much good ‘for free’, just fell in a weak moment to the same people he’d help anyway… I wish he comes out unharmed of this.

He’ll be remembered for the good by all the people he proudly server all these years .

This story is circulating inthe news now for over 3 weeks and we didnt hear any wrong doing any serious offenses
This is a typical scenario of cops who are trying to climb ladders and ranks at al costs no matter how any casualties of war there r on the way. This cycle repeats itself every few years its not like aha! Ok! Now we are going to have a clean police force . So why read this news its pure internal strife and greed that will not benefit us anyway shape or form anyways

I worked for the NYPD years ago, as a civilian; we were warned then about accepting unlawful gratuities, which we scrupulously observed. Therefore, I have no sympathy for members of the uniformed force, who got their hands caught in the cookie jar. Incidentally, since it is now Chol Hamoed Pesach, I can’t help recalling what occurred in the 66th Precinct, exactly ten years ago, at this time. Yidden, do you remember how the cops manhandled Mr. Schick of Schick’s Bakery, over a traffic incident? Then, when the community became outraged, and took to the streets, Commissioner Kelly sent his goons into the 66th Precinct (the TPF, and cops from all over the city), to rough up the Yidden, including pulling their beard out, and shoving women, as was done in Europe. Unfortunately, people have short memories. They remember the Crown Heights pogrom of 1991; however, the civil unrest and the police brutality which took place in Borough Park in 2006, during Chol Hamoed Pesach, has largely been forgotten!

I personally think that it’s really not necessary to even write this article. The fact of the matter is this guy is a great great person he was always there to help out whether it was quietly or publicly . end of the day he really looked out for everyone. And we all had great favors from him (whether we know it or we don’t know it) I think its a real chilul Hashem even to post about this. Don’t you think after working in BP for 25 year he doesn’t know about VOSIZNEIAS? Don’t you think he reads this?
Let’s make a kiddush Hashem and just take it off. There is more jewish websites and none wrote about it.

It does not seem they wanted to enrich themselves, if I understand that to mean get more money for themselves. They wanted to feed their ego and cutting the line at security, getting into a place most people can’t get into, having a police escort for their Rebbe etc. was what they wanted; it made them feel good and important. It seems some police officers were happy to oblige for a small pat on the back and a fat envelope.

    Millionaire rabbonim were also involved.

If he’s got nothing to hide, why did he clam up in front of the grand jury?

I’m surprised that all these morons fall for this bait and post such silly comments.
Don’t you all get it by now that it’s nothing about these upstanding respective people and all about Preet trying to get his name to fame so that he can run for a higher political office.
