Debrecen, Hungary - Two suspects were arrested Sunday for the murder of Ofir Gross, 40, who had been declared missing since last week in Hungary according to Israeli authorities.

Gross’ body was found in a forest not far from the eastern city of Debrecen. He had last contacted his family Thursday before disappearing.

The suspects in custody are male, aged 21 and 19. “We received word that suspects were arrested,” Gross’s mother, Hannah, told the Ynet news website on Sunday. “We still don’t know very much, we’re still trying to process the terrible news.

Further details and the motive behind the murder still remain unknown.

Israeli authorities delivered the announcement to his family, who traveled to Hungary and positively identified the body.

Gross, a resident of Jerusalem, had gone to Hungary on a trip after finishing his studies in medical engineering.

The Hungarian consul said that an eyewitness last saw Ofir drinking beer at a local bar. According to the witness, Ofir said he did not want to order food because it was expensive, and then wanted to get a hotel room but chose not to because of the price.

“My parents talked with Ofir last time last Thursday,” his sister said, according to Channel 2. According to her, Ofir had planned on staying on a local man’s couch, but she did not know if he got home. “We have no clue,” she said. “It is a terrible fear.”

You imply that you are learned in the Torah.
So, tell us: what will be YOUR punishment for your comment?

What smart reader misses that the victim was 40 years old and no longer the responsibility of his aging parents?

Some of these comments, whereby the readers are blaming the victim for his own death, are reprehensible and disgusting. He did not deserve to be murdered by those two killers. He should not be judged by the readers on this site, because of his alleged non-observance. I hope that some of you repent for your horrible and intemperate remarks!

Another Yid killed in Hungary. When will we all learn that Poland, Hungary, Ukraine, etc.. were virulent anti-Semites during WW11, killing yidden; AND they are doing the same today. Unfortunately, we haven't learned that lesson and we're pouring millions into these countries by our trips to Liczensk, Sanz, Uman, etc...
Total stupidity.

You want to be inspired, go to Eretz Yisroel. Pleny of wonderful Kivrei Tzaddikim to visit. In fact, there lots of very choshuva kevraim here in NYC. Go to Mount Judah cemetery and you can literally spend most of day being mispallel at kivrei tzaddikim. I've done that many times.
