Surveillance video showed six youths packing cardboard into the yellow school bus parked outside Beth Rivkah, a private girls school, in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn on Sunday night. Moments after they exited the bus, a blaze erupted inside and the vehicle was soon engulfed in flames, the video showed.

Following an investigation by the NYPD hate crimes task force, the boy, described as 11 years old and black, was charged on Monday with criminal mischief and arson, both as a hate crime, said Detective Annette Shelton.

Racial tensions between Orthodox Jews and African Americans in Crown Heights have flared over the years but recently have eased as the neighborhood, like much of Brooklyn, has become more gentrified.

Police on Tuesday sought five other black youths in the arson crime, and released their photos from the video in their request for information from the public.

Authorities said no one was hurt in the incident but the bus was damaged.

Why bother? They’re only going to let them off without even a slap on the wrist because they’re “minors.” Their parents should be hauled in; that’s where they learned this hatred.

Doesn’t the 11 year old hoodlum in custody know who the other 5 hoodlums are?

these are “youths” who are from “underprivielaged” “disenfranchised” inner city communities where the media portrayal of young black men has skewed them in a negative direction due to “institutional racism” and a “lack of economic opportunity” due to a “lack of investment”. These youths who remind Obama of his imaginery son and I quote the liberal messiah “if I had a son he would’ve looked like Trayvon”) with their hoodies are “misunderstood” surely Obama would pardon them like he did the hundreds of others this past month. Therefore we must invest more money in “anti-violence” and “after-school activities” (who knows if they go to school in the morning).

    1.Sue their parents.
2.Find out what church they worship in and get the pastor involved in educating his flock on antisemitism.
3.find out what school they go to and put pressure on the school board to institute holocaust studies and other sensitivity training.
4.get their parents to meet with local rabbis to discuss how they are raising their children.
this cannot be left alone to fester. These boys have friends who feel the same way they do. They will grow to be Rotzchim against Jews. Now they dont have guns and knives, in 5 years they will.

My children still live there. NOTHING WORKS. The police are lazy & uncaring, the Blacks are dragged up by grandma, the decent Blacks fled years ago or are holed up in their homes as terrified as anyone. Shootings, rapes, assaults, robberies, just in a day’s work.

We lived in CH for 30 years. I have no idea how to stop these thugs – I would say more police presence on the streets, especially in the summer, but they somehow are never in the right place at the right time. CH in the summer is a tinderbox and past events, most notably the CH Riots over 20 years ago, prove that.

#6 idea of a mandatory Holocaust Studies unit in schools is worth trying.
