Lawyers for Democrat Sheldon Silver said Friday the U.S. Supreme Court is considering changing the limits of a law used to convict him. They say the change may cause a reversal of his conviction.

The 72-year-old Manhattan resident was sentenced last week to 12 years in prison. He’s scheduled to report to prison July 1.

His lawyers have asked a judge to block collection of a $1.75 million fine and a $5.3 million forfeiture order until appeals are completed. They say he otherwise will have to sell homes he jointly owns with his wife.

    A U.S. attorney’s office spokeswoman has declined to comment.‎

He should sell all the homes he has with his wife and girlfriends. Big deal and he should have considered this while he was ripping us off.

I am amused that a year ago everyone was Shel’s friend. Everyone wanted to do lunch with good old Shel. Now the same people deny even knowing the guy. Lock him up and melt the key.

He is a crook whose only interests are his own. So he has to sell his home…. how many Yidden lost THEIR homes to the banks after the crash? did he help them? He can always move in to one of the city housing projects he procured. Hell, let him go in for a reduced rent as Hakores Hatov.

Wait, let me see if I get this. Sheldon Silver is to go to the big house for 12 years, while Hillary Clinton expects to go the White House for 8 years after having done essentially the same thing as Sheldon Silver.

He was “tough on crime” when he ran for office every four years and now he wants a pass? Good luck, Shelly. You made your bed.
