Paris is to host an international meeting in May of 20 countries, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan, to discuss the peace process. Israel and the Palestinians have not been invited.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas during his one-day visit Sunday.

“We must demonstrate that the path that we are proposing will be the one that will allow for an exit out of the extremely serious situation, the impasse which we find ourselves in. I explained to him (Netanyahu) what that means,” Ayrault said. “I will not ask him to come to the meeting on May 30, he wasn’t invited, only at a second date. So I understand his disagreements but it only convinces me of the need to do something to move this impasse,” he said, adding that he spoke “frankly” with the Israeli prime minister.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that direct negotiations, without preconditions, are the best way to reach a final agreement and that “any other attempt only makes peace more remote and gives the Palestinians an escape hatch to avoid confronting the root of the conflict.”

“They simply avoid negotiating with us as part of their desire to avoid resolving the root of the conflict, which is recognizing the national state of the Jewish People, i.e. the State of Israel,” he said.

The Palestinians, who have welcomed the French proposal, also said it will be held as planned. Nabil Abu Rdeneh, an adviser to the Palestinian president said: “The French and Arab efforts are ongoing and are quickly on the right track to hold the international peace conference.”

The last round of Israeli-Palestinian peace talks, mediated by the U.S., collapsed in 2014.

What blessed chutzpah! ! France and their inept government have more then enough of their own internal problems that they clearly are unable to resolve. Who the heck asked them to dictate to Israel how to live their lives… and I mean live literally. I love how all these countries feel that they have to flex their muscle at Israel in telling Israel what it must do. France is most probably the last country that should be telling anyone anything! !!

The only world leader on the new world stage who can and will (in time) get all the Arab states, Palestinians, including the extremist factions, to recognize Israel, is Xi Jinping, the Chinese president, and his one party government. He is getting closer and closer to put forward his plan for a two state solution without compromising Israels security one ioda. The chinese have been investing billions of dollars in Israeli industry and technology, and they will make sure their investment stays safe and secure. The chinese know how to deal with any hint of terrorism before it fosters in to any type of full fledged threat. At the same time China is buying billions of dollars of oil from the Arab states, making all their shieks millionaires. Hainan Air is now flying three tel aviv/beijing round trips weekly and promised the Israel tourist industry 100000 chinese tourists within the first twelve months, and double that figure next year. Each Chinese tourist spends an average of $2500.00 per vacation! China needs Israel to help them with with intelligence and technology to fight terrorism which is also a billion dollar industry. China is not ready to allow terrorism to jeapordize her investments in Israel, and has the manpower to assist Israel in terms of a peacekeeping force, as they have sent troops to many different countries. China also has merited harboring the Mirrer yeshiva during the war in Shanghai and 20000 other Jews, from which sprouted forth generations of hundreds of thousands of Jews. So in that zechus they may be zocheh to play the role of peacekeeper, unless Mashiach beats them to it.
