What’s ironic is that some people just don’t know how to use the word irony…

He must have climbed over the railing. Was anyone watching him? Kids should not be on balconies alone.
Hopefully this is a wake up call to other parents.

What we need to start being serious about is

ושמרתם מאוד לנפשותיכם …. And only then we could start speculating why and what we do wrong that nature is not in sync with Creation , so long as we are wayward and arrogant about this cardinal sin , how dare we really try to blame the creator when he designed it all – c”v to say that its a gezyyra
So long as we are the culprits by not respecting our very lives and lives of our children , no one c”v is blaming anyone , but that primarily includes the one who created these beautiful people and precious children
And so its unfair to blame the one who creates and provides us with such precious neshumes – and because of our negligence or weakness , to blame him .?.? C”v –
He cries all the more when we are not careful with our jewels , and that is why we cry cause As a creation we are designed with compassion streaming of our nurturing and loving father who is the created ….

the gate actually looks quite high & i notice that there is a boxy mesh which would make it harder to climb , very scary unless the awning bars gave the boy something to hold on to

The balcony he fell from is totally illegal in that it projects over the sidewalk more than 22 inches over the sidewalk. I see these all over Williamsburgh. They are built without permits and somehow, the City allows it. Why is the law not enforced?

One major concern is whether the child was pushed by another child. Horrible things like this can happen. I understand the natural mother is, lo oleinu, not on this world. There must have been some adult in charge.
Just yesterday I saw a very young child crossing at the beginning of Lee Avenue and it was all alone, the mother was struggling with other kids 20 feet behind. I snapped and yelled at the mother. She rudely told me to move as I was blocking her view of the baby. I know I will be flamed but people should have less kids or space them so they can watch their kids safely.

Once again, I appreciate the many photos. I have never been to this area and this helps me understand what happened.
