The Iraqi journalist threw the shoes, when the US president was shaking hands with the Iraqi prime minister Nuri al-Maliki in his office in Baghdad on Sunday, AFP reported.

The Iraqi who was sitting in the third row ‘jumped up’ shouting “It is the farewell kiss, you dog,” the report says.

He then threw his shoes one after the other towards Bush. The president was reportedly not hurt, as the shoes did not hit him. Iraqi security staff ‘frogmarched’ the journalist out.

This journalist sees the amount of respect the president gets from journalists in our country.. No wonder he’s throwing shoes.. I’m suprised that the NBC reporters didn’t attack him yet!! These people are shameless!!!

Bring all our troops home!! From all over the world!!Shut the borders.. Put our troops on the border to protect us..And let them kill each other.. Let’s see how long they will survive without any help from us..

In Arab culture, throwing shoes is a sign of contempt. Even showing someone the bottom of your shoe is a sign of contempt, and it’s about the rudest thing you can do. So this guy wasn’t necessarily trying to hurt the President, but to insult him. That goes along with calling him a dog, which is a terrible insult in Arabic, even worse than in Yiddish.

Bush deserves what’s coming to him, He humiliated the Iraqi people. It is time for him to be in the same shoes. I praise the journalist who has the guts to do so.

Actually, this person is a hero to most of the world. Just that most in the world would not dare and have the courage and deal with the consequences; and they rather it be two stones, which should at least have him get stitches, or even worse, and most Americans will agree with it.

I remember when in the pre Iraq war days, when Powell was in the UN presenting the FACTS. Whoever dared say otherwise was booted at a fool and stupid American. The French and Arab leaders who tried to advise us otherwise, were shouted down and their wine boycotted. Myself and one other person in my shul were probably the only STUPID lefties in shul who dared warn that……. the French Chirac might know better then us after all… But we yidden are very right always..

Yes; we should have thrown shoes at him back then.

go Muntadar al-Zeidi; GO!!! do what we all want to!

Where the hell was the secert service????????? The president of the United States is attacked and there was no one there to protect him! Despite how you might feel about him, he is the president of the most powerful country in the world. After the first shoe was tossed that guy should have had a bullet in the head and the president should have been wisked away and out of harms way. What would have been the outcome if he tossed two grenades???????????? Everyone on that detail should be fired and we should get some real heros like there were when Reagan got shot.

Interestingly, I think this incident says more about what Iraq has become than what Bush did to Iraq. A place where you can actually insult leaders and live to see another day. Ironically, an act of protest reassures the goals of the person he is protesting.

    See the Dicta.

    Hey Monseyer #28
Besides the fact that u sound like a self hating jew…
Let me educate u a little..
    1) All your lefty friends like Clinton, Kerry supported the war back then..
    2) Chirac “lost” big time!! For a reason!! Bush (in ’04) did not!!
    3) The fact that the lefty Powell thought they are a real threat, just proves to me that everyone was on the same boat back then.
    4) Look at Iraq today, It’s a SUCCESS!! And you & your lefty media have no other choice but to agree!!
So go back to your SHUL and tell your other left buddy that for a change you can be proud of your country! Not bash it!

Shoes to get the message across concerning Presidents is the world custom. In 1960 the President of Russia, Nikita Khruschev, banged with his shoe in the UN to get a message across.

The West! Plenty of Americans Indians Brits on and on, had their throats slit. Just two weeks ago im Mumbai, they were looking not for Jews. They said Brits or Americans, should come forward. Arabs are brutal terrorists, the question is why dont so called liberal Arabs call them out for it and fight them.

That clumsy oaf of a man Bush has upset the whole Arab world. For what? Oil!. In Europe we are still suffering the consequences of Hitler’s ill thought out war. Far from modernising and improving the country Bush has set up huge grieviences which won’t be solved for generations to come. Call that Leadership. I call it stupid bloodymindedness.
