Brooklyn, NY – Authorities say an armed suspect has been shot and killed by police who were responding to a burglary at an apartment in Brooklyn.

It happened on 78th Street near Stillwell Avenue in the Gravesend neighborhood at about 6:30 p.m. Monday.
Police say an NYPD sergeant and an officer confronted a man who was observed fleeing the scene. Police say the man pointed a revolver at the sergeant. Both officers fired their weapons, striking the suspect twice.
The man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A firearm was recovered at the scene. Police are searching for a second suspect.
