About 42 percent of likely voters favored Clinton, to Trump’s 39 percent, according to the July 31-Aug. 4 online poll of 1,154 likely voters. The poll had a credibility interval of plus or minus 3 percentage points, meaning that the results suggest the race is roughly even.

Among registered voters over the same period, Clinton held a lead of five percentage points, down from eight percentage points on Monday, according to the poll.

The reasons behind the shift were unclear.

Clinton had pulled well ahead of Trump on the heels of the Democratic National Convention last week, where she became the first woman to accept the U.S. presidential nomination from a major political party.

Since then, Trump has engaged in a days-long feud with the family of an American soldier killed in Iraq and squabbled with the Republican leadership over his comments and leadership turmoil within his campaign.

Trump, in recent days, however, has sought to refocus. On Friday he announced his economic policy advisory team, said he would deliver an economic policy speech early next week, and was expected to endorse U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan, the top U.S. elected Republican, who is seeking his 10th term in Congress.

An average of polls aggregated by Real Clear Politics showed Clinton ahead of Trump by 6.8 percentage points on Friday, up from 3.9 on Aug. 1.

It won’t be long before the American people finally wake up to the disaster Hillary would be, the horribly liberal judges shed appoint for decades to come (think:Ruth Bader Ginsberg, etc), what a liar she is, how she takes the American public for fools and blatantly repeats her lies with no shame, even accusing the mother of the killed serviceman who served in Benghazi of “not recalling” what Hillary said to her at the time, saying Comey the FBI head agreed she didn’t lie about her emails (!!!), covers for her philandering husband while he’s in office just to further her own career, etc.

Reuters/Ipsos has been all over the place with their polling, so until other, more trustworthy polls appear next week, I would take this result with a huge grain of salt — especially since polls by CBS, FOX News, NBC, CNN, and Marist this week have given Hillary leads ranging from 7 to 15 poimts.

I agree with #1 ; the American voters are going to wake up, and realize what a volatile, abusive individual, Ms. Hillary is. It wasn’t just one retired Secret Service Agent, but a least six or seven, who have documented the fact that every day, she made not only their lives miserable, but also the lives of other staff at the White House; she would constantly yell and scream at them, curse at them, using the most vile language, and talk down to staff in front of others. Also, it was documented by numerous witnesses at the White House that she threw a vase at Bill Clinton, striking him in the face. Even Bill was scared of her; he told the Secret Service “to keep that (it rhymes with witch), away from me”.
