    City parks officials say Monday beaches will also be closed to swimming, bathing and surfing on Tuesday.

    The New York Post (http://nyp.st/2bWJP2r) reports police issued $80 tickets to at least four surfers at the famed summertime Rockaway Beach surf spot.

    An emergency worker who dived into the Atlantic at Coney Island to save a swimmer who violated the ban told the newspaper the current felt like a “300-pound guy pulling me back out to sea.”

    On Monday, officials also lifted a voluntary evacuation of Fire Island, a thin strip of land off of Long Island’s southern shore.
