The men were part of a group known as the Tantzers, who travel to different locations to sing and dance in order to bring joy to the sick and the underprivileged.

Yoel Sterngold, who was at last night’s event, told VIN News that approximately 20 men from the Tantzers came to a private event last night at the home of a Wesley Hills businessman to sing and dance for children with cancer. Three of the Tantzers were traveling home together in a minivan when the accident occurred.

Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police told VIN News that the 2010 Toyota Sienna was traveling southbound on the Palisades near exit 10 when 27 year old Shmuel Nissen of Brooklyn swerved to avoid a deer and hit a tree on the center median at approximately 11:40 PM.

Nissen escaped serious injury and was taken to Nyack Hospital where he was treated and released.

41 year old Yeshaya Levi of Brooklyn was ejected from the rear seat of the vehicle and sustained serious head trauma. Levi was transported to Westchester Medical Center in critical condition and sources said that doctors are optimistic about his chances for recovery.

Front seat passenger 32 year old Alexander Rosenblum of Borough Park was pinned inside the minivan and sustained severe injuries.

Rosenblum’s arm was severed above the elbow and first responders placed a tourniquet on his right arm to stem the heavy bleeding. Rosenblum was stabilized at Nyack Hospital before being transported to Westchester Medical Center where doctors were unable to save his right arm.

Rosenblum, who also sustained head injuries in the crash, underwent lengthy surgery on his left arm and is currently in critical condition.

Hatzolah, Spring Hill EMS, Rockland Paramedics and the New City Fire Department all responded to the scene.

The medical condition of the third accident victim is currently unknown.
