Sacramento – Crash Kills Community Leader

    Sacramento, California – A retired schoolteacher and prominent leader in the Sacramento Jewish community was killed allegedly by a drunken driver.
    Sima Spector, 73, had just dropped off a friend and was driving to her Carmichael home as her 1998 green Toyota Avalon entered the intersection of Fair Oaks Boulevard and Watt Avenue, a 1998 white Lexus GS400 ran a red light, the Lexus hit Spector’s car on the driver’s side. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

    The driver of the Lexus, Nikita Page, 31, has been arrested on suspicion of felony drunken driving and vehicular manslaughter.

    A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Spector was a speech language pathologist in the North Sacramento School District for 28 years.
    She was a former president of the Sacramento Jewish Women’s Business and Professional Group, and a leader of the Sacramento Chapter of Hadassah, a Jewish women’s volunteer service organization.
