Washington - House Democrats are seeking information from the government’s leasing agency about potential conflicts of interest created by President-elect Donald Trump’s lease for a luxury hotel in downtown Washington.

The Trump International Hotel opened this fall on Pennsylvania Avenue, a few blocks from the White House. The 263-room hotel sits on property owned by the federal government.

Democrats say the hotel’s lease with the General Services Administration bars any federal elected official from deriving “any benefit” from the agreement.

Reps. Elijah Cummings of Maryland, Peter DeFazio of Oregon and two other Democrats say the lease terms present “a clear and very real conflict that will be triggered” as soon as Trump is sworn in next month. They called on GSA to take “concrete steps” to avert the conflict.

Democrats seem to be trying anything to attack Trump.

The more they lose power, the more the lies and half-truths, the nastier and more vicious they are becoming.

The President elect is a genius of barely breaking the law but skirting it to the limits and as much he can get away. His mantra avoid paying taxes , the old and sick are a burden . What need is Auschwitz selection. Love the Nazis

Please do NOT any Nazi comparisons.
This will trivialize the real hooros of the Nazis.

btw:

The PEOTUS is breaking the laws (at least after Jan 20). His genius as a billionaire living in a golden palace convinced the public that he is "pulling for them." And the Congressional Oversight is abandoning their responsibility.

That is genius.

It is legal to use the tax code to the best of your ability. That is why people hire lawyers.
