The Manhattan district attorney’s office said Thursday that 33-year-old Jonathan Munoz, of Suffern, was found guilty of falsifying documents and official misconduct.

Prosecutors say Munoz told supervisors he arrested a 21-year-old man because the man was interfering in the search of a woman suspected of buying marijuana.

Munoz, who joined the NYPD in 2006, claimed the man entered a “fighting stance” and swung a fist at him.

Prosecutors, however, say video surveillance showed that to be untrue and that the officer unlawfully searched the woman on the sidewalk.

Munoz is expected to be sentenced May 9.
