64 year old Rabbi Menachem Mendel Deitsch was attacked by two men and two women near the central train station in Zhitomir in early October, just days after Rosh Hashana, as previously reported on VIN News (http://bit.ly/2pkwU3j).

Zhitomir police arrested the four suspects two weeks after they allegedly stole Rabbi Deitsch’s cell phone and money and left him for dead under a bridge, where he was found unconscious and bloodied several hours later.

After undergoing emergency surgery for massive brain injuries, Rabbi Deitsch was airlifted to Tel Hashomer hospital in Ramat Gan where he remained in extremely critical condition until he died of his injuries this past Friday night.

Friends and family had remained optimistic that Deitsch would recover but he never regained consciousness after the vicious beating, reported Israeli news site COL(http://bit.ly/2ozh7us).

Rabbi Deitsch’s funeral will take place on Sunday at 2:30 PM at the Shamgar funeral home in Jerusalem with burial on Har Hazeisim.

He is survived by his wife, Rebbetzin Shterna Sara Deitsch, three brothers and his children Rebbetzin Menucha Friedland, Rabbi Schneur Zalman Deitsch, Mrs. Chana Appelbaum, Rabbi Yisroel Deitsch, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Deitsch, Mrs. Yehudis Fradkin, Rabbi Yosef Eliyahu Deitsch, Shlomo Yehuda Deitsch, Shmuel Deitsch, Yocheved Deitsch and Shalom Dov-Ber Deitsch.

No doubt the Ukrainian dogs who did this will get away with murder. Hopefully that fabissena country will remain in strife and divided by Russia for another 100 years.
