Brooklyn, NY – Two Police Officers Shot

    Brooklyn, NY – Two New York City police officers were shot and wounded in Brooklyn early this morning, at 834 Halsey Street and Ralph Avenue in Bushwick.
    One officer was shot in the chest and the other officer was hit in the back. Both officers were wearing bullet-proof vests and were taken to Kings County Hospital. Level 3 mobilization was called.
    Both officers were taken by RMP to KCH and are doing well and one perp is in custody.

    Other officers responding to the call arrested Jonathan Julian, 29, who lived in the room, police said.

    One of the officers was shot in the chest area of his vest. The other was shot in the back part of his vest. The bullets didn’t penetrate the vests.

    Mayor Michael Bloomberg said the suspect has a criminal record and that he would like to know how he was able to get a gun. The mayor said the incident points to the issue of getting guns off our streets
