In an interview with The Associated Press, Trump says the plan will result in tax cuts for both individuals and businesses. He would not provide details of the plan, saying only that the tax cuts will be “bigger I believe than any tax cut ever.”

The president says the package will be released on “Wednesday or shortly thereafter” — just before his 100 day mark in office.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin initially set a goal of getting tax reform passed by August, but that deadline has slipped. Mnuchin now says the administration still hoped to get a bill passed well before the end of the year.

Big deal. I’d rather see him release his tax returns so we’ll all know how much his tax reforms will be in his own interest.

Trump promised to release his tax returns and has not,
Tax reform is at least as complex as health care reform and there is no way he can produce a well crafted proposal within the next week or month.

Unless you are a C.P.A., there is no way that any of you would understand a federal tax return (with several hundred pages), as complex as Trump’s. Even if his returns were released, there would be those on this board, who would still be qvetching, since they don’t understand the complicated tax laws which are involved, related to real estate, such as depreciation, and loss carry over. Therefore, why don’t all of you just give it a rest? If Trump’s returns were good enough for the Internal Revenue Service, then that should suffice. There is no federal law on the books, which mandates that he release his returns. I don’t
care if Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush (#41), Clinton, Bush (#43), and Obama released their tax returns. The fact of the matter is that Woodrow Wilson, Calvin Cooledge, Herbert Hoover, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman, Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, and Lyndon B. Johnson, never released their federal tax returns to the public. Case closed!!
