New York, NY – A 32-year-old woman has suffered a gunshot wound to her ankle during a shooting in Lower Manhattan.

Police say the victim was found in front of 17 Battery Place near Battery Park as officers were responding to report of an assault in progress.
The woman was taken to Bellevue Hospital. Her injury was not considered life threatening.
Police are investigating a possible connection with a second individual, who was taken to Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn. That person’s injury was not immediately known.
Police say the shooting may have stemmed from a dispute.
