Cameron Burke tells the Daily News (http://nydn.us/2qfZH8L ) they were flying out of Kennedy Airport May 3 when he was asked to remove the cake, which he did. He said another attendant berated him, telling them to leave the plane after he questioned whether the attendant had been drinking.

JetBue said Sunday the cake and other items were stowed in a bin reserved for safety and emergency equipment and the family refused multiple requests to remove them.

The airline said the family cursed and yelled at the crew. Police were called and the captain determined they would not be allowed to fly.

More than once, I’ve had stuff like coats drop on me from an overhead bin, never a cake . . .

Based on this AP report it sounds like this is completely this bizarre family’s fault, unlike other stories where there seem to have been faults on both sides.

I would not blame the family so fast. Who let the cake through? TSA Start with TSA and not the family. Once the family and the cake are on the plane and the family is seated. They are ok. So whose fault is it? Second, who scared the kids? The flight attendant. I don’t care what they did but you never scare children. These are little kids. These crew members have a lot to learn about dealing with the public. If you were flying with your kids and the crew scared your kids you would have lost it also and you would have been bumped off the plane just like this guy! Yes he lost it. But wouldn’t any normal parent. On the whole, he was better behaved than the crew. Take a second look at the tape.

I think that both parties were at fault here. It appears that the family was intransigent, pertaining to moving the cake. The crew was probably farbisen to begin with, and didn’t want to negotiate. Incidentally, just because the TSA may have erred, doesn’t mean that they have the final word. Look, if the TSA inadvertently let a firearm go through the screening process, does that mean that the crew is not supposed to object, to it being on the aircraft? There is too much junk being brought aboard all flights to begin with. Those overhead bins are flimsy. If they fail and open up in flight, the contents will spill out, and could injure passengers.

Why can’t someone travel with a cake? I am sure it went through xray inspection and there was no bomb inside.

This bully in the photo with his glock was scaring these innocent kids. You would be in an uproar if they had peyos.

Anyway you look at it, you never frighten children no matter what color, race, or religion you are! It just is not done! All the airlines have to learn from this one!
