Washington – A news agency is reporting that in the days before President Donald Trump took office, incoming National Security Adviser Michael Flynn blocked a military plan against the Islamic State group that was opposed by Turkey. Flynn had been paid more than $500,000 to advocate for Turkey’s interests.

The McClatchy news service says Flynn declined a request from the Obama administration to approve an operation in the Islamic State stronghold of Raqqa, effectively delaying the military operation. Turkey has long opposed U.S. forces working with Kurdish forces.
The plan was eventually approved, but not until after Flynn had been fired for misleading the White House about his contacts with Russian officials.
“A news agency is reporting”
And I am reporting that the news agency’s report is false.
I have just as much credibility as the news agency.
But we all know that Russia and Turkey are in opposition in Syria, so how is it possible to claim that this Trump team in in both Turkey’s and Russia’s pocket?
We are living in a strange world the news people now are psychics who gleam information by thought and then put it in the news as news without backup hard copies. Welcome to a new world.
If the POTUS knew that Flynn was on Turkey’s payroll, then the POTUS would have minimized Flynn’s influence.
Or fired him
earlier.

All I can say is that reports across the board (Muslim news sources, Democrat backing news sources, Republican backing news sources) seem to agree on considerable tension between Turkey and Russia. Let’s try Al Jazeera dated 3 May 2017:
> However, there was little obvious progress on Syria, where the two countries back opposing sides
Seems clear to me. The only reconciliation they had was in economic ties, not in Syria (the latter being my reference).
