Liberty, NY – A Sullivan County teenager is under arrest for hate crimes after vandalizing buildings at a Liberty summer camp.

New York State Police said that 18 year old Christopher Santoro was motivated by anti-Semitism when he damaged multiple buildings at Camp Shomria.
The camp, a project of Hashomer Hatzair which describes itself as “a kibbutz in the Catskills”, is located on Lake Marie Road just south of Route 52.
Authorities said that Santoro, a Liberty resident, entered the camp on June 12th, and vandalized both the exterior and interior of multiple buildings. The damage also included anti-Semitic graffiti.
A police investigation revealed the Santoro was motivated by a dislike of the camp’s owners and those who attended the camp. Camp Shomria starts its summer season in three days.
Santoro was arraigned on Wednesday in the Town of Fallsburg Justice Court and was charged with burglary in the third degree and criminal mischief in the fourth degree as a hate crime. He was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail and is due back in court on July 5th.
The Sullivan County Sheriff’s office is continuing its investigation of the incident in conjunction with the State Police Hate Crimes Unit.
I would feel nervous sending my kinder to an area inhabited by such Jew hating locals.
There there is a great deal of outright hate directed at what the local dreck call their “summer visitors”. This same segment of the population Is made up of poorly educated idiots who consider it a badge of honor to confront and hurt observant Jews and their property.
On the flip side I wonder how many of this dreck are employed by Jewish owned companies and don’t even know it.
I see their striking out as a territorial thing and their need to impress their friends with their actions. The best one can hope for is the law coming down hard on those who commit these antisemitic crimes, and make these fools pay dearly what they have done.
