61 year old Chaim Gluck and his 59 year old wife Faigy died in the fast moving fire that ravaged their 44th Street duplex on 11th Ave.
Their 19 year old daughter, who was rescued from a fire escape by firefighters, suffered smoke inhalation and was transported to Maimonides Hospital where she is listed in stable condition.
As previously reported on VIN News (http://bit.ly/2giobeS), the three alarm blaze was reported at 3:47 AM. FDNY officials said that the flames, which quickly made their way from the first floor to the attic, spread very quickly.
It took firefighters approximately two hours to get the fire under control and one firefighter was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The source of the fire remains under investigation and it is unknown at this time if there were working smoke detectors in the home.
The Glucks were congregants of Khal Ohr Hachaim and parents of four who had two married sons living in Lakewood and a married daughter living in Fairlawn.
Their funeral will take place today at 2:30 PM at Shomrei Hadas Chapels in Borough Park.

To #7 -What gives you the right to imply that the victims did not have any working smoke detectors? You don’t know that for a fact. Until the NYFD investigates this horrible tragedy, why don’t you keep your Monday morning quarterback comments to yourself?
