Police said that 70 year old Neal Milano reportedly victimized a fellow tenant at 47-55 39th Place in Sunnyside over a 10 month period starting in September 2016. Milano is said to have followed the 43 year old woman numerous times, yelling obscenities at her and grabbing her by the arm and neck and pulling her on at least two separate occasions.

Milano, who sports a Hitler-like moustache, was apprehended by police today at 2:20 PM and charged with stalking and harassment. While he has no prior arrests, Milano is no stranger to the authorities and has been the subject of numerous complaints by residents of the Sunnyside condominium who say that he has repeatedly threatened them and boasted of having guns.

Residents told NY1 (http://bit.ly/2vDBuxc) that Milano, head of the condominium’s board, has imposed absurd regulations on tenants including a $200 fine for improperly folding cardboard for recycling. Milano has also reportedly posted private details of residents’ lives in publicly displayed notices and has required residents to obtain written permission in order to host overnight guests, a privilege that comes with a $100 price tag.

Lynn Calvacca, owner of two condominiums in the building, said that she is unaware of the board having any other members besides Milano. Calvacca’s failed in her own attempts to win a seat on the board and she said that she had been told that Milano threatened repercussions against any tenants who voted for her.

On his own visit to the building, City Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer noted that the building’s directory listed numerous fictitious residents including Preet Bharara, Snoop Dogg, Josef Mengele and Rudolf Hess, reported NY1(http://bit.ly/2vDPJCd).

“I don’t know what kind of twisted mind would put this in the building’s directory,” said Van Bramer. “It is shocking. I have never seen anything so fueled with hate, so intended to frighten.”

Images of Hitler, Mussolini, Al Capone, swastikas and guns are deeply disturbing, noted Van Bramer.

“The lobby and entryway to this building is like a horror movie,” said Van Bramer.

Milano’s attorney presents a different view of the building’s decor.

“The murals are historical in nature and they include historical figures, including patriotic figures,” said the attorney. “They are a lesson in history.”

According to the NYPD, today’s arrest is completely unrelated to three separate investigations by the city’s human rights commission, the state attorney general’s office and the NYPD into whether Milano’s actions have created a hostile environment for residents.
