Dave’s Soda and Pet City owner Dave Ratner was among retailers at the White House on Thursday for Trump’s signing of an executive order authorizing changes to the Affordable Care Act. Ratner can be seen smiling behind the Republican president in a picture of the event.
The Springfield native has been denounced by customers on social media, with many saying they’ll no longer shop at his Agawam-based beverage and pet store.
Ratner says he decided to attend the signing because Trump was restoring small businesses’ power to negotiate group insurance rates. He says he’s “embarrassed” and wouldn’t have gone had he known Trump also would cut off federal payments to insurers.
Trump says the health care system “will get better” with his action.
Another liberal jew.
Antifa radicals are worse than Nazis.
Heads up you Populist Cretans.
I saved a screen shot of this. As part of a graduate writing project, I am going to save a record of your comments over the next seven months, as well as comments found on other less extreme sources.
The United States military academies require a liberal arts education for their cadets, believing that a well rounded study of history, politics, psychology and sociology, is required in order to accurately assess and understand world events. Two examples:
Only without understanding the timing and history of international law as it addresses a victor’s occupation of territory wrested from a vanquished enemy can one allege that the law is somehow anti-Semitic…and only without knowledge of post-WWII American political and legal history can one not understand the importance of liberal tolerance to religious minorities in this country.
I think many of you here are living proof, both that the military academies are correct in their assessment of the importance of liberal arts …and that absent that education it is all too easy for one to fall under the spell of populist demagogues. This is going to be the focus of my research.
