Lakewood, NJ – A multi-car collision in Lakewood has left one person dead and nine others injured.

Sergeant Daniel Tworkoski of the Lakewood Police Department said that the accident took place at 8:40 PM on Route 88 at Ocean County Park and involved approximately five vehicles.
The Lakewood Police Department, New Jersey State Police, Department of Transportation and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office are all at the accident scene. Route 88 will remain closed for an extended amount of time as the accident investigation continues.
Tworkowski said that no further details about the accident are being released at this time.
